Welcome and Meet Our Team

Hello and welcome to year 3/4M. I’m Mrs Macdonald, the class teacher, Deputy Head Teacher and Deputy DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead). I have vast experience of working with the families of Chapefield and have proudly spent my entire teaching career here. Working within the class is Mr Wedge, our Teaching Assistant and Mrs Singh, who supports pupils with additional needs. We are also very fortunate to be supported by Mr Binks, a long-standing school governor, who has volunteered for many years at Chapelfield. In my role as Deputy Head Teacher, I undertake leadership duties on a Tuesday whilst leaving the delivery of the timetabled lessons in Mr Wedge’s capable hands. We are all looking forward to working as a team with you and your children this year as they build independence, stamina for learning and truly thrive!

Learning at Home

We encourage pupils to read a minimum of 3 times per week and reward them with a weekly sticker which contribute towards earning a token for the book vending machine.

Spelling homework is set every Tuesday via the platform Spelling Shed and a paper-based task. Pupils are tested informally the following Tuesday via the ‘Hive’.

Other homework is regularly set via Purple Mash and include a range of tasks to support your child’s learning. e.g. quizzes, games, written tasks, number work and so on.

Occasionally, paper-based homework will be set and some flexible projects e.g. art tasks.

Pupils are also able to access Timetables Rock Stars (TTRS) through their unique logins.

Homework is not compulsory however we do encourage some participation.

Useful Reminders

Currently, we do PE every Wednesday, but this might change- please ensure pupils have a PE kit in every day!

Reading Records are signed every Friday
